Ruth George

Mezzo Soprano

Based in Dover, New Hampshire, Ruth George is one of the seacoast's most sought-after soloists and ceremony singers for weddings, funerals, religious services, and other musical performances.

A classically-trained mezzo soprano, Ruth's rich, clear, and flexible vocals are matched by her natural warmth and intuitively artistic sense of musicianship. Her decades of performing experience draw from a diverse background that spans many genres and styles, including religious music, chamber and large-scale choral works, pop, rock, and funk performances, and exploring the holistic use of the voice as a tool for healing. Additionally, she enjoys using her vocal talents in recording sessions for other local musicians and is featured on tracks ranging from neo soul to experimental spoken word and Baháʼí children's songs.

Ruth has been a member of, or guest performed with, local bands such as Forbidden Fruit, The Rockingham Groove, Cold Engines, and Elroy, and is a member of acclaimed chamber choirs Amare Cantare and Cappella Nova Mundi.

She is also a prolific visual artist, Reiki master-teacher, writer, herbalist, and meditation guide who enjoys spending time in nature, especially by the water.
